teach-ICT.com is a brilliant website packed with free teaching and revision material.

The KS3 section has the DfES sample units, as well as adapted schemes of work made by a variety of teachers. It also have very useful links to other sites such as webcams around the world for unit 8.1 .The best part of the KS3 section is the games such as the ever popular Dunkin’ Teacher.  I use the games as starter activities whilst the class are arriving and settling in. They are also a very handy way to teach keywords.

A recent feature is the video tutorials which use flash to demonstrate specific skills. At the moment there are only videos to teach spreadsheets (such as this handy one on autofill) but there is the promise of more to come. I’m going to use these as reminder tools to help students who have forgotten a particular skill. This could also be particularly useful as a differentiation aid for lower ability students.

There are also lots of teacher and student resources for the traditional GCSE, AS/A2 courses.  The revision sections are particularly good.  As yet, I can only see a few resources that would be applicable for DiDA. This is definately a site that I would recomend revisiting once a term to find out what’s new.
